Notarization provides assurance that the signor of the document has shown valid photo ID to a notary. I check ID carefully prior to notarization, make appropriate logbook entries and affix my stamp. I verify or complete the notarization date and location, as notarized documents require the State and County where the notarization took place.

I understand that an incomplete signing or a signing full of errors can cost a mortgage office a rate lock, a buyer to miss a close of escrow, or just cause everyone involved headaches. That is why I will not miss any dates, initials, or signatures. I will walk your borrowers through all of the important docs: the closing statement, note, the deed, and CD. I won't just shove the load docs in front of the borrower and say, " sign here, I am just a notary". I understand I have to be impartial, but not uneducated.
